We are a coalition of voters from different parties, who have come together with one common cause - that of demanding that a General Election is held no later than Thursday 9th June 2022 in order to sort out the seemingly never ending multitude of problems the country is facing and indeed has faced for the past few years.
Whether it be concerns over Brexit, Covid-19, the Russia-Ukraine conflict, inequalities in society, the rank hypocrisy of Boris Johnson's Government, the 'Green New Deal', Channel 4's Privatisation, Environmental Issues, Food and Fuel prices rocketing and the sense that we are trapped in a never ending scenario of problems and issues which would normally have brought about votes of no confidence in the Government of the day, us ordinary people have had no say in any of this.
We have been effectively silenced and shunned, told that our voice is not important and have had to watch from the side-lines as our country has been torn apart through infighting, division and severe economic issues. Emotionally and financially, many of us have been bled dry.
We cannot be silent anymore - we must now have our say, to disallow us our voice would be so anti-democratic that it would cause the collapse of the country.
The demand is simple - a General Election must be announced and held by Thursday 9th June 2022 through the passing of the Early Parliamentary General Election Act 2022. This can be done via the motion being supported by the Political Parties in the House of Commons and there is currently enough time to get such a bill passed, ratified in the House of Lords and then for it to receive Royal Assent.
By holding a General Election on this date, we the people can finally have our say on the many burning issues of the day:
* Brexit and how should it work out as well as should we re-join the European Union or not?
* Covid-19 and the best way out of this crisis for the United Kingdom.
* The role of the United Kingdom in sorting out the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
* How do we become a Green Society without bankrupting the country and its people?
* How best can the United Kingdom recover economically from the Pandemic?
* How can I be assured that I won't be priced out of heating or eating?
* How do we get the United Kingdom to become a fairer and more tolerant society?
* How can we better approach the issues of Migration and people desperately seeking Asylum here in the United Kingdom?
* How can we protect Freedom of Speech and Democracy in the United Kingdom?
* How can we protect the right to protest and continue to speak out on the important matters of the day?
* How can we prevent Supply Chain issues and shortages of Essential Workers in the future?
* How can we prevent issues such as the P&O job cuts saga from ever happening again?
* Should the United Kingdom stay together or should England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland be separate independent countries?
* Who is the best person and who is the best Political Party to take the United Kingdom forward?
Whichever way we look at things, the United Kingdom is currently suffering and every day brings with it more and more trouble - from issues regarding Government Ministers and aides to outright rank corruption. This cannot be allowed to continue, for it is an absolute aberration against the qualities expected of our society; that of truth, honesty, decency, duty, fairness, tolerance etc. The nightmare has to end and end soon!
The United Kingdom and its people deserve better and deserve to have their say!
How can we bring around a General Election by Thursday 9th June 2022?
The best way is to mention this site via Social Media and to join in the discussion on Facebook, YouTube and Twitter - link us in with your posts and mention us when discussing Political topics and discussions.
Also, it is crucial that you contact your MP and let him/her/they* know how you feel about this issue and that if they do not back a General Election you will consider voting for a different party. MP's like power and do not wish to lose their grip on it, therefore it is in their best interests to back what their constituents want and if they are good MP's they should relish the challenge of being re-elected.
We are already going to the Polls in May for the Local Council Elections across the United Kingdom, and it would be entirely possible to delay the date of this by a month, if necessary, from Thursday 5th May to Thursday 9th June in conjunction with a General Election. The votes for both the Local and General Elections can happen on the same day, as they have in the past or could be held on different days as appropriate. Plus, not all Councils are having Elections on this date as some are waiting until later in the year or until 2023.
Quite simply, as long as the message and missive is that change is due and that the pressure is kept on for us to all have our say, then MP's and the Media will get the message that the people are demanding change and this will give our campaign the traction it needs.
